IKV Case Study

Project  - Crab Lane Primary School, Manchester

Client  - Manchester City Council.

Following the development of our patented IKV ventilation system, we were approached by Manchester City Council to install the system in a suitable primary school.

Crab Lane Primary already had an extract canopy in situation into which the IKV system could then be retro-fitted. Over a 3 month trial period the system was continually data logged, the following results were produced showing savings based on electric make-up air.

  • Financial savings of £2,708.65 per year
  • Carbon Dioxide savings of 14.73 tonnes per year
  • Payback within the school would be achieved within 2.5 years

These figures have been endorsed by Manchester City Councils principal engineer.

Catering staff have reported reduced noise levels and improved ambient temperature within the kitchen. In addition the installation of carbon dioxide sensors ensures employers feel confident that the kitchen is a safe place to work in.
